Introducing the Class of 2024
To celebrate the community’s many rising stars, the Flint & Genesee Group is shining a well-deserved spotlight on the 40 Under 40 class of 2024, an exceptional group of young professionals who are driving positive change across the region. The 40 honorees – all under the age of 40 – are dedicated leaders excelling in their careers and giving back to Genesee County through volunteerism.
“Good things are happening here in large part because of this next generation of emerging leaders,” said Flint & Genesee Group CEO Tim Herman. “We have a lot to be proud of here.”
This is the 40 Under 40 recognition program’s second class of honorees; the inaugural program was launched in 2022. There was such an outpouring of support for the honorees two years ago that the Flint & Genesee Group decided to make it a biannual tradition.
“It’s really resonated with the people who live and work here, and shows that we have a strong network of young professionals in our community doing some really amazing things,” Herman said.
More than 150 nominations were submitted this year. Nominations were limited to owners, executives, managers, professionals, and other people with significant influence or involvement in the Flint & Genesee community.
Honorees were selected by a committee of local business and community leaders, including two 40 Under 40 alumni. The committee scored each nomination considering aspects including professional experience, workplace contribution, and community involvement. Honorees were scored based on the quality of their nominations, not the quantity of nominations they received.
Recognizing the community’s youngest and most exceptional leaders who are making a difference in Genesee County is essential, Herman said. Not only does it highlight their impact, but it also supports talent retention and dovetails with “Make Your Move in Flint & Genesee,” an initiative of Flint & Genesee Education & Talent, a division of the Flint & Genesee Group.
“This is our way of showing we value the contributions of all our young leaders and encouraging them to continue investing their time and talent here,” Herman said.
