Director of Development
Whaley Children’s Center
For six years, Olivia Nagel has committed her time and talent at Whaley Children’s Center, a Flint nonprofit providing shelter, hope, and healing to children who are survivors of neglect and abuse.
Nagel has served as Whaley’s director of development since 2022, leading her team with new approaches to fundraising and event planning. Her attention to detail is proven with the success of each event she organizes. She works tirelessly to raise the funds needed to provide the young people at Whaley a place to call home and whatever they need to “just be kids.” Her passion encourages others to get involved and be the difference in the life of a child.
Beyond her work with Whaley Children’s Center, Nagel is actively engaged in giving back to the community. She’s recently volunteered her time with the West Flint Optimist Club and worked to build items for Genesee County Habitat for Humanity. She’s active with the Grand Blanc Chamber of Commerce and belongs to the Flint & Genesee Young Professionals.
Nagel is found throughout the year representing Whaley Children’s Center at various events and helping others understand how to help empower youth and families. She also serves as a support person for a former Whaley youth who left the center over a year ago. Nagel continues to show up for this young person, helping her as she transitions into adulthood.
Nagel earned her bachelor’s degrees in business administration and marketing from the University of Michigan-Flint in 2018.
