Fenton Smiles
After earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2015, Dr. Alex Givens joined a group private dental practice in a small town where he gained experience and learned much from his mentors. Hoping to improve the patient experience using new technological advances, Givens eventually decided to start his own practice. After evaluating many opportunities across Michigan, he made the decision to open a new dental practice in Fenton. In March 2020, construction began on Fenton Smiles at 3309 W. Silver Lake Road.
In addition to building a thriving practice, Givens also gives back to the community by donating a portion of the proceeds from every new patient appointment. Since 2020, Fenton Smiles has given over $25,000 to local causes and organizations.
To continuously hone his skills, Givens has attended over 850 hours of continued education focused on complex treatment planning, cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, orthodontics, communication, and advanced dental technology.
Givens has served as a board member of the Michigan Dental Association Foundation, revamping the organization’s scholarship program to improve the impact on young dental professionals. He volunteered as an ambassador for the Fenton & Linden Regional Chamber of Commerce for three years and participated in the Fenton Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Michigan. He was one of the event’s top individual fundraisers in 2023. Givens was also a key contributor in raising funds and securing grants for the $1.2-million Frankenmuth Jaycee Spray Park, located in Memorial Park.
