Dan Command has worked in Genesee County his whole career, benefiting children for more than a decade as an award-winning teacher and water polo coach for Grand Blanc Community Schools. In his last year of teaching in 2022, he was named a Top 100 teacher in the U.S. and Canada by the Giving Joy teacher appreciation program.
Today, he is a full-time entrepreneur and considered the largest influencer in the beard product industry. After debuting six years ago, the Dan C Bearded YouTube channel now has 80,500 subscribers and over 67 million minutes watched.
Command has also created his own line of beard-care products which are available in drugstores nationwide; his Beauty & The Beard merchandise has sold more than 3,000 products in just two years. In addition, he serves as a lead consultant for over 20 beard-care product companies. In 2023, Command was named a head judge for the U.S. National Beard Competition.
Command continues giving back to the community, working with the University of Michigan-Flint’s Summer Entrepreneurship Institute and volunteering as a judge for the Pitch for $K program in Flint. He hosts local events for his YouTube channel viewers and donates beard products to many local organizations and charities.
Command has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan-Flint. He also holds master’s degrees in teacher leadership and curriculum development.
