I am so pleased to announce the return of 40 Under 40, the Flint & Genesee Group’s special recognition program that shines a spotlight on young people carving out a path in Flint & Genesee. From more than 150 outstanding nominations, 40 emerging leaders were selected for this significant honor based on professional experience, workplace contribution, and community involvement.
Like many communities, Flint & Genesee faces a talent shortage that has been accelerated by variables ranging from an aging workforce to the growth of remote work. We’ve also experienced some population decline, identified by the 2020 Census. To reverse that trend and achieve the Forward Together vision of becoming a top-five community in Michigan by 2040, it’s imperative that we engage local talent in positive and meaningful ways. Recognition is one way to do that.
This year’s 40 Under 40 honorees are recognized for their dedication, hard work, and potential for success. Whether they are focused on family medicine, urban planning, community education, or content creation, each is making an impact that helps shape Flint & Genesee. These professionals, who range in age from 17 to 39, are excelling in their careers and giving back through volunteerism and board service. They play an important role in what makes our region so great – driving positive change and inspiring the next generation.
As a community, we have a lot to be proud of. I look forward to celebrating the new cohort of 40 Under 40 and I want to personally congratulate each honoree. Your dedication and achievements are an inspiration, and I have no doubt that your continued efforts will help lead Flint & Genesee toward a vibrant future.
