Physical therapist Dr. Jerome Adams has earned the designation of Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.
Flint Community Schools has welcomed Dr. Natoya Coleman as its new chief innovation officer. Coleman has 18 years of educational experience.v
The Flint & Genesee Group has welcomed Amanda Davidson as its new events coordinator; Nicholas DePaolis, small business program support assistant for the Flint & Genesee Economic Alliance; Nick Newman as an intake coordinator for the East Michigan APEX Accelerator; and La Mar Robinson as a TeenQuest facilitator for Flint & Genesee Talent & Education.
Genesee Intermediate School District has announced Kevin Kickbusch as its new assistant superintendent of technology and media services. He previously served as the district’s director of technology services.
The Gloria Coles Flint Public Library’s Board of Trustees has named Ann Manko as the library’s interim executive director.
Hurley Medical Center’s Brianna Haskins is a DAISY Award Honoree. The DAISY Award recognizes nurses who have demonstrated their skill and compassion in the care they give their patients.
Joanie O’Sullivan-Butler, president and CEO of John P. O’Sullivan Distributing Inc., has been named chairperson of the Michigan Beer & Wine Wholesalers’ Association.
Kettering University has welcomed Laurel Droz as its stewardship manager. Previously, she served as community engagement manager at Flint Children’s Museum. Kettering has also appointed Dr. Terence J. Pitre as dean of the School of Management. He brings over two decades of experience in academic leadership and teaching. He was most recently the dean of the College of Business Administration at California State University. Additionally, Kettering University has appointed Dr. Ronald J. Tackett as the founding head of its new School of Foundational Studies. The new academic unit will serve as a hub for faculty innovation across disciplines, allowing for collaboration on a more cohesive, human-centered approach to foundational learning.
Dr. Diane Peters, a mechanical engineering professor at Kettering, has been awarded the National Outstanding Teaching Award by the American Society for Engineering Education. She receives this for excellence in teaching, making notable contributions to engineering education, and inspiring students.
The Michigan Psychological Association (MPA) has awarded Dr. Molly Gabriel-Champine, director of the Behavioral Health Academic Program at McLaren Flint Internal Medicine Residency Program, the Beth Clark Service Award. The award honors MPA members who demonstrate advocacy, activism, and volunteerism for the organization they work with.
McLaren Health Plan has named Danielle Devine as its Michigan Market president. She will oversee all aspects of the health plan’s operations while also developing and implementing growth strategies to continue providing for the needs of members. She previously served as the director of legislative strategy and health policy for Mike Shirkey.
Mott Children’s Health Center has appointed Dr. Jennifer DeAnna as director of Child & Adolescent Health. In her new role, DeAnna will lead the center’s pediatrics department and oversee primary medical care, audiology, cardiology, otolaryngology, and school-based clinics.
SIPI INC. has hired Samantha Fountain to be their director of Economic & Community Resource Navigation. She was previously the manager of economic programming with the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission.
Dr. Pooja Subramanian has received McLaren Flint’s Physician Recognition Award for the second quarter. She received this honor due to her open and clear communication with patients and colleagues and gift for listening to what others say.
Tapology Founder and CEO Alfred Bradley has been named a 2025 Taproot Fellow. This honor is in recognition of his work preserving and uplifting traditional Black art forms through community initiatives. The award comes with $60,000 in grants to be used for community projects.
University of Michigan-Flint Chancellor Laurence Alexander has been appointed to the Michigan Education Trust Board of Directors by Governor Gretchen Whitmer. Additionally, the University of Michigan-Flint has named Theodore Rippey as the new dean of its College of Arts, Sciences & Education. Most recently, Rippey was an associate dean for faculty development in the College of Arts and Sciences at Bowling Green State University.
James J. Washington is the new chairman for the board of directors at Addison-North, a community learning center located in Flint. Washington is a Flint Promise success coach with Flint & Genesee Education & Talent and previously served as the vice president of the Genesee County Parks and Recreation Commission.

AeroDesign Services has signed a lease at Flint Bishop International Airport for a dedicated hangar space where they will develop a full-service aviation complex. This new space will allow AeroDesign Services to bring specialized aviation services like maintenance, engineering, and aircraft customization to mid-Michigan.
Bennet Communication Solutions has been awarded the Association of TeleServices International 2025 Award of Excellence. This is the 12th time they have received this honor for their excellence in the call center industry.
The Genesee County Administration Building has opened in downtown Flint. The new location, formerly the north tower of Citizens Bank, is located at 324 Saginaw St. in downtown Flint. This facility consolidates four former county offices into one central location.
Genesee Health System opened a new behavioral health urgent care center at 1040 W. Bristol Road in Flint. The new location will initially offer the same crisis services as the existing location. Later, additional services, such as the Crisis Stabilization Unit and Crisis Residential Unit, will gradually open.
Hurley Medical Center now has the ION Endoluminal System and the da Vinci 5 surgical system, making it the only hospital in the region to offer both robotic technology platforms. These additions will make minimally invasive surgeries much more available and closer to home, eliminating the need for patients to travel for certain procedures.
Kettering University has received approval from the Higher Learning Commission to offer the nation’s first accelerated semiconductor degree, allowing students to complete the degree in as little as three years. The program is designed to address urgent national workforce needs by advancing students on a more focused path through a rigorous, co-op-integrated curriculum.
The Mass Transportation Authority unveiled the new J. Michael Zelley Training & Development Center, at 1700 S. Dort Highway in Flint. This training center will serve as a cornerstone for new job opportunities in public transit.
Sylvester Broome Empowerment Village (SBEV) celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. SBEV works with the community to foster leadership and offers free year-round programs for young people ages 5-17.
