Executive Director
Arab American Heritage Council
Lucine Jarrah is dedicated to making the Greater Flint community better for all residents.
Those efforts were honored in June when Jarrah was named to the Arab America Foundation’s 30 Under 30 initiative, which spotlights Arab American professionals from across the nation who have made great achievements in their workplaces and in their communities. In her role as executive director of the Arab American Heritage Council (AAHC), she’s been instrumental in the expansion and revitalization of the organization’s programming and services. The AAHC offers immigration counseling and consultation services, promotes art and culture, and strengthens the political power of their community through advocacy and civic engagement.
Jarrah facilitates collaborations with several local and state organizations and institutions, including the Latinx Technology and Community Center, International Center of Greater Flint, Flint Institute of Arts, and FIM, to maximize the impact of their programs. Driven by a passion for advocacy and storytelling, she actively collaborates with grassroots organizations to improve outcomes for her community.
In addition, as a member of the National Network for Arab American Communities, Jarrah works closely with other groups to amplify the needs and interests of the Arab American, Middle Eastern, and North African communities. She’s assisted in the group’s work on voting rights, redistricting, data equity, health equity, and immigration reform. In 2015, she founded Cinema’s Finest to engage young people in the arts and provide them a grounding in social justice. She also serves in various capacities with the Genesee Regional Health Equity Council, McLaren Health Equity Council, Global Flint Initiative, National Network for Arab American Communities, and Michigan Muslim Civic Table.
Jarrah earned her bachelor’s degree in political science and master’s degree in social work from the University of Michigan.
