Founder & Family Medicine Physician
Harris Family Health
Dr. Aisha Harris always knew she’d come home to Flint.
After completing her degree in chemical engineering on a full academic scholarship at the University of Michigan, medical degree from Georgetown University, and medical residency at the University of Illinois in Chicago, Harris returned to her hometown to begin her medical career. In 2022, she founded Harris Family Health, a direct primary care clinic in downtown Flint that provides services for a flat monthly fee.
Her work has garnered much attention in the last two years. Harris was recently invited to speak about health equity with Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist. She also published her first book and highlights health and community concerns on her Black Family Doctor podcast.
Harris has been named winner in the Flint First Entrepreneur Competition, Moving Flint Forward Small Business Grant Program, Financial Plus Credit Union’s Billboards of Inclusion Minority Business Spotlight Contest, and 100K Ideas People’s Choice Award through the Pitch for $K competition. She was a finalist for the Michigan Women Forward’s 53 Voices Pitch Challenge.
Harris serves as chair of the Advocacy Committee for the Michigan Academy of Family Physicians and board member of the Genesee County Prevention Coalition. She is a member of the Health and Environmental Justice Committee for the Flint Chapter of the NAACP and a 2024 Climate and Health Equity Fellow through the Medical Society Consortium on Climate and Health.
