Since joining Fernco Inc. in 2017 as marketing manager, Donahue has risen through the company’s ranks to his current post as waterworks regional manager. In this role, he manages $10 million in distribution sales across 25 states, building stronger relationships with customers and growing his sales territories. Fernco, a leading manufacturer of flexible PVC pipe connections, is headquartered in Davison and employs approximately 300-plus workers.
Donahue is active in many community and civic organizations. He is a past ambassador of the Grand Blanc Chamber of Commerce and has been actively involved in the Flint & Genesee Chamber. He is also a member of the Future Leaders Council for the Water and Sewer Distributors of America, which provides educational and networking opportunities for emerging leaders in the industry.
His generosity is well known in the community. In an effort to support families impacted by the Flint Water Crisis, he and his Fernco coworkers donated pallets of bottled water to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan in 2018. Additionally, Donahue served on the “Stuff the Truck” committee for the Flint Firebirds, volunteers at the South Flint Soup Kitchen, and is a donor and volunteer/participant at the Boy Scouts of America clay shoot. In 2017, he competed and won the Teddy Bear Ball dance competition and donated all his prize money to Catholic Charities.
Donahue earned his bachelor’s degree from Grand Valley State University.
