Community Foundation of Greater Flint
Alexandria Dawson is a leader in every sense of the word. Dawson has worked in various roles at the Community Foundation of Greater Flint (CFGF) for 10 years, making her uniquely capable of excelling as associate vice president of marketing and communications – and telling CFGF’s story.
Her work has included managing a grantmaking portfolio focused on youth and gender equity, cultivating the next generation of philanthropists, and coordinating online giving campaigns. She helps to anchor the new culture that CFGF is establishing and elevates a new level of accountability and performance in all the organization’s work.
Dawson lives her commitment to co-creating an equitable and vibrant future for Flint and Genesee County by serving on the boards of directors for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Flint and, previously, the YWCA Greater Flint. She has also served as a steering board member for the Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy Michigan, an advisor for the Council of Michigan Foundations’ Youth Advisory Council, and a mentor for the Council of Michigan Foundations’ Leadership Development & Mentoring Program. She has represented the Flint community and CFGF as a speaker at numerous conferences, sharing on a national level her experiences leading communication efforts through local triumphs and trials.
Dawson earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology at Wofford College.
